Arroz Con Leche

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month we teamed up with one of our favorite couples, Ale and Bryan. 

Ale and Bryan are sharing 3 recipes passed down by their Peruvian 🇵🇪 and Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 families and showing how they like to incorporate their Apothékary blends into each of them. ⁠This incredible Arroz Con Leche is from Ale's Peruvian background and we may or may not have had seconds already!

 

Arroz Con Leche

  • 150 g small grain white rice (soak prior for 5 min)
  • 170g evaporated Milk
  • 100 g of condensed milk
  • 50g raisins (soaked)
  • 120 g light brown sugar
  • Orange peel without the pith (white part between orange and peel)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 Tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5Tbsp Camu Camu
  • 1.5 Tbsp Better Than Botox
  • 850 ml water
  • Cinnamon to decorate

1. Bring water to a boil, then add in cinnamon sticks and orange peel & rice and cover for 10-15 min
2. Remove cinnamon sticks and orange peel from rice and add in light brown sugar, Camu Camu, Better Than Botox, raisins and mix together and cover for 5 min
3. Add in evaporated milk and condensed milk and stir to mix together then cover for 2 min
4. Add shredded coconut and continue to stir and let sit for 2 min for rice to finish absorbing all the flavors
5. Scoop into little bowls and sprinkle with cinnamon, Better Than Botox and Camu Camu
